APPLE TART

 

Pastry

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar (vanilla flavored)

1 cube butter – cut into small pieces

1 tsp baking powder

 

Mix on low speed (using paddle) to combine till crumbly.

 

1 lg brambly apple         cooks quickly to mush

4 small pippin apples      good for eating

1 quince                       Smyrna quince best

 

Peel and core. Chop apples into 1 inch pieces, and quince, chop into ½ inch pieces.  Place in10” tart dish (French white). Pour pastry crumbs over top.

 

Bake:  350 degrees, 45 minutes
